A built-in stretch Bengaline shaper for the bust, waist, and lower hip gives support, structure, and holds you in, while the gathered outer fabric disguises the internal structure and gives you a sleek silhouette. Love the color and out of all the previous Monica’s I’ve owned this has been the easiest to ever get into I honestly feel I could have sized down another size…
Overall I think the dress is pretty and like/will keep it, but there are two concerns I have:
1. The color of the dress from the photos is wildly inaccurate. At the time of purchase, there were only a handful of photos, where it looks a dark red color. What I received is a light eggplant color-- still a pretty color, just not at all what I was expecting. There have since been additional photos added that show the purplish color more accurately, but as of writing this, the product photos include the red appearance still. I would have preferred the red color the original photos show.
2. The fitting for the bust is a little disappointing. The bodice of the dress fits nicely and is flattering, but the construction of the boob area just seems a bit off-- maybe just a space issue and it would work better for smaller-busted ladies, or maybe wearing a stick-on bra would help me with the issue. It is well-lined and looks like it should be perfectly wearable without a bra, but it just sits a little weird on me.
Otherwise, the dress is easy enough to wear/get in and out of, and I like it overall.
I own several Monica's and this was FAR easier to get on than the others. After posting a picture in the Lounge, Laura stated I had an easier time due to this being a post-redesign to the bodice. With the new bodice, one might have an easier time sizing down, with my hips it's never worked for me.
We love the Monica wiggle dresses. This color is absolutely awesome.
